Perenti finalises $95M Ghana mine transition
- Perenti has secured a $95 million contract extension and asset transition plan at the Iduapriem Gold Mine in Ghana.
- The company expects to receive between $40 million from the sale of its mining fleet at contract completion.
- Perenti plans to recycle this capital into other value-accretive growth opportunities across its global mining portfolio.
Perenti (ASX:PRN) has secured a $95 million contract extension and transition plan at a Ghanaian gold mine.
This six-month agreement continues surface mining services that the company's subsidiary has provided at the open-pit site since 2018.
“Finalising the Iduapriem transition agreement with AngloGold Ashanti is another important step for the evolution of our contract mining portfolio,” said Perenti President of Contract Mining Gabrielle Iwanow.
The agreement includes the sale of the mining fleet for an estimated $40 million at contract conclusion.
Following the announcement, the Perenti share price was down at $2.09.
The company stated that the expected asset sale proceeds will be allocated towards several value-accretive opportunities currently under consideration.
The announcement follows a separate contract in June where the business secured a $275 million underground development project in North America.
