Patronus Resources sells Pine Creek uranium exploration rights
Patronus Resources (ASX:PTN) has executed a binding term sheet to sell its uranium exploration rights within the Northern Territory’s Pine Creek region to Greenvale Energy (ASX:GRV).
Under the terms of the proposed transaction, Patronus will divest its rights across a district-scale 2,466km2 uranium exploration portfolio situated in the premier Pine Creek Orogen uranium province.
In consideration for the sale, Patronus will secure a substantial 19.6% cornerstone shareholding in Greenvale, an equity stake valued at approximately $5.5 million.
Additionally, the agreement grants Patronus the right to maintain its shareholding level to support future project growth, alongside securing a seat and representation on Greenvale's board of directors.
The completion of the deal remains subject to customary conditions precedent and regulatory waivers typical of transactions of this nature.
Patronus Managing Director John Ingram highlighted that the divestment provides the dedicated focus and uranium exploration impetus that the Pine Creek region deserves under a specialised entity.
Furthermore, Ingram noted that retaining a significant interest aligns perfectly with the company's strategic investment thesis.
Moving forward, Patronus intends to pivot its operational attention towards advancing its core gold and base metal interests across the same region.
As of March 31, the West Perth-based explorer maintains a market capitalisation of $70 million, supported by $75 million in cash and liquid investments, ensuring a robust financial position as it refocuses its portfolio.
