Paradigm Biopharmaceuticals (ASX:PAR) appointed Dr Daniel Furtner as chief medical officer, effective Sept. 16.

Dr Furtner succeeds Dr Donna Skerrett, who transitions to Senior Scientific Advisor after serving as chief medical officer since September 2019.

"On behalf of the board and the entire Paradigm team, I would like to thank Donna for her outstanding contribution as chief medical officer," said Paradigm Biopharmaceuticals Executive Chairman Paul Rennie.

Dr Skerrett led the execution of the global Phase 3 PARA_OA_012 trial, which completed recruitment with 538 participants across four regions.

Following the announcement, the Paradigm Biopharmaceuticals share price was up at $0.26.

The leadership change reflects the programme's advancement towards clinical evidence generation and regulatory submission preparation.

Dr Furtner brings over 20 years of life sciences leadership experience, including his previous role as Senior Director of Medical Affairs for Asia Pacific at CSL.
