Medical device developer PainChek (ASX:PCK) has appointed Karen Holzberger as chief executive officer effective Aug. 17.

The appointment follows the board's announcement on July 6 regarding the departure of the previous chief executive.

“I am excited to join PainChek as CEO,” said PainChek's incoming CEO Karen Holzberger.

The company stated that the appointment supports its growth in the United States under an agreement covering up to 20,000 beds.

Following the announcement, the PainChek share price was unchanged at $0.105.

Holzberger possesses 26 years of industry experience and previously managed a diagnostic division at Nuance Healthcare.

Interim CEO Andy Hoggan will return to his role as chief operating officer on Aug. 17.
