- The private unlisted firm announced the transition after a two-year search for a new leader.
- The executive shift aims to drive business growth across Australia’s expanding financial advice sector.
Wealth management firm Ord Minnett appointed former HSBC Australia boss Antony Shaw as its new CEO to lead its national operations.
The move concludes a two-year executive search, with Shaw joining this month before officially taking over from Karl Morris in February 2027.
"Antony brings global leadership experience to Ord Minnett, which will help drive growth across the whole business," said Ord Minnett Executive Chairman Karl Morris.
Shaw spent more than 23 years at HSBC across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and the Middle East prior to his appointment.
The transition sees Morris return to executive chairman while board chair Warwick Smith retires after serving since 2020.
Ord Minnett traces its Australian financial services history back to 1872 as a founding stockbroker.
The firm operates advice and investment management networks across major capital cities and regional hubs.
