Olympio Metals (ASX:OLY) strengthened its position in the Canadian mining sector, announcing it has reached the key commitment milestone to earn a 51% interest in the Bousquet Gold Project located in Quebec.

The advancement follows a series of encouraging exploration results, most notably a "bonanza" intercept of 19.40m at 17.29 g/t gold.

To secure a further 80% stake in the project, the company faces remaining commitments including CAD$500,000 in option payments, CAD$250,000 in shares, and CAD$1 million in expenditures over the next five years, with the flexibility to accelerate this timeline.

Field activities are scheduled to recommence in late May to follow up on the successful Phase 2 drilling.

Olympio has capitalised on its portfolio by completing the 100% divestment of the Dufay Gold Project to Fokus Mining Corp.

While the initial agreement was valued at CAD$500,000 in a mix of cash and shares, a subsequent all-cash takeover of Fokus Mining Corp resulted in a favourable outcome for Olympio.

The final consideration for the Dufay divestment increased to CAD$684,000, delivered entirely in cash. hh h
