Neurizon beats schedule for key ALS trial milestone
Neurizon Therapeutics (ASX:NUZ) announced that its HEALEY ALS Platform Trial has surpassed the critical 50% dosing milestone ahead of schedule.
As of June 9, 129 out of 240 planned participants have been dosed in Regimen I, which evaluates the company’s innovative therapeutic candidate, NUZ-001, for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the most common form of motor neurone disease.
This milestone follows a recent expansion of the trial's target cohort from 160 to 240 participants, driven by stronger-than-anticipated recruitment rates and the absence of a concurrent clinical regimen.
167 patients have already been assigned to the regimen across 78 active clinical trial sites throughout the United States, underscoring momentum and excellent engagement within the investigator network and ALS community.
The rapid dosing trajectory highlights the exceptional operational strength and efficiency of the HEALEY platform in screening, randomising, and progressing patients through treatment.
Neurizon’s Interim Executive Chairman, Sergio Duchini, noted that achieving this threshold so shortly after expanding the study reinforces total confidence in their operational timelines and provides a comprehensive dataset to support future regulatory, partnering, and commercial opportunities.
