Navi raises A$6.8m to launch paediatric catheter tech in US
- Navi Medical Technologies has raised A$6.8 million to fund US commercialisation of its Neonav paediatric vascular access system after securing FDA 510(k) clearance.
- The round was led by healthcare VC firm KP Rx with a A$4 million investment, alongside Innovation Victoria and Pacific Channel.
- Navi said the capital will expand manufacturing, build its US commercial team and support Neonav’s rollout into leading children’s hospitals, with initial sales expected this year.
Navi Medical Technologies has closed a A$6.8 million capital raise to support commercialisation of its Neonav ECG‑guided paediatric vascular access technology in the United States following FDA 510(k) clearance and early clinical evaluations.
The company said the funding round was led by KP Rx with A$4 million, joined by existing investor Innovation Victoria and New Zealand‑ and Melbourne‑based Pacific Channel.
It follows Neonav’s expanded US indication covering a broader range of neonatal and paediatric vascular access procedures.
“Navi has developed a genuinely differentiated technology addressing a significant unmet clinical need,” said KP Rx Partner Hashan De Silva, who described Neonav as positioned to become an important tool in neonatal and paediatric vascular access.
Navi stated that the funds will be used to scale Neonav manufacturing, build a US commercial team and support product launch into leading US children’s hospitals, with commercial sales expected to begin later this year as clinical evaluation sites convert to early customers.
The company said Neonav combines real‑time ECG‑guided catheter tip placement with ongoing migration surveillance, allowing clinicians to reassess catheter position throughout use and potentially reduce repeat imaging and complications from misplacement or movement.
