Minrex Resources commences drilling at Serbian gold project

Share

Minrex Resources (ASX:MRR) commenced its fully funded 2026 drilling programme at the Barje Deposit, the cornerstone asset of its flagship Tlamino Gold Project in southern Serbia.

Regional contractor Drillex International has mobilised rigs and initiated a comprehensive, 7,000-metre drilling campaign.

The operation is designed to methodically convert existing inferred mineral resources into the higher-confidence indicated category, laying the crucial groundwork to underpinning an updated economic study for the high-grade asset.

Investors are closely watching the development, given the exceptional historical intercepts previously reported from the Barje Deposit.

Prior results highlighted include a standout intercept of 30m at 5.45 grammes per tonne gold (Au) and 11 g/t silver (Ag) from 74m, which featured an ultra-high-grade zone of 6m at 14.17 g/t gold.

Other historical results include 38.2m at 3.68 g/t gold and 158 g/t silver from just 16.8m, underscoring the shallow, robust nature of the mineralisation.

The drilling campaign marks the first major catalyst in a sequence of planned milestones for the company this year.

Shareholders can anticipate a steady stream of news flow, with initial laboratory assays targeted for delivery in the September quarter.

Minrex Resources aims to deliver an updated mineral resource estimate alongside a refreshed scoping study, both targeted for completion around year-end.
