
Metcash headline revenue rises to $19.6B

Wholesale distributor Metcash (ASX:MTS) reported a 0.7% revenue increase to $19.6 billion.
The headline revenue growth compares to a stronger 3.8% increase when excluding the structural decline in tobacco sales.
Group earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation rose 1.9% to $761.7 million during the period.
Underlying earnings before interest and tax declined by 0.8% to $503.7 million due to one-off integration costs.
Following the announcement, the Metcash share price was unchanged at $3.20.
The company stated that its platform strategy and reduced capital expenditure helped maintain a strong financial position.
Operating cash flow grew 3.5% to $558 million while the company declared an 18-cent dividend.
