Mayne Pharma wins $13.2M court costs order
Mayne Pharma Group (ASX:MYX) secured a legal victory after the Supreme Court of New South Wales ordered Cosette Pharmaceuticals to pay the company $13.3 million in legal costs, plus interest.
The ruling follows Mayne Pharma’s defence in a high-stakes corporate dispute that concluded last year.
The legal battle commenced in June 2025, when Mayne Pharma initiated proceedings against Cosette.
The dispute arose from Cosette’s purported termination of a scheme implementation deed, an agreement originally signed by both pharmaceutical companies in February 2025.
In October 2025, the Court delivered a definitive judgement in favour of Mayne Pharma, completely dismissing all of Cosette’s claims.
At the time, the Court also issued an adverse costs order against Cosette, establishing that the company would be responsible for covering Mayne Pharma’s legal expenses from the proceedings.
The judgement quantifies that obligation, locking in the multi-million-dollar figure. While the core legal costs have now been finalised, the financial impact for Cosette will likely rise.
The Court is expected to hand down further orders shortly to give full effect to the judgement.
The upcoming orders will finalise the exact amount of interest Cosette must pay, establish a strict timeframe for the payment, and address additional costs incurred by Mayne Pharma during its specific application for these legal fees.
At the time of reporting, Mayne Pharma’s share price was $2.36.
