Marquee Resources (ASX:MQR) has achieved an operational milestone by entering into a research and development patent licence and option agreement with UT-Battelle, the operator of the prestigious Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

The collaboration, linked directly to the United States Department of Energy, provides Marquee with access to cutting-edge intellectual property specifically designed for the extraction and separation of rare earth elements.

The licensed portfolio features advanced separation methods for adjacent lanthanide elements and the innovative Neutral Ligand-Based Rare Earth Element Separation Technology, which represents a critical technical leap in downstream processing.

The agreement grants Marquee a 24-month licence term spanning both Australia and the USA, with a specific field of use focused on the company’s Redlings REE Project in Western Australia.

The deal includes an option for Marquee to negotiate a full commercial licence during this term.

At the time of reporting, Marquee Resources' share price was $0.0080.
