M Battery Materials filed a prospectus to raise $15–$25 million through an initial public offering ahead of its planned Dec. 2 listing on the Australian Securities Exchange.
The capital raise values the company at an initial market capitalisation of $48–$58 million as it seeks to enter the critical minerals sector.
"Investing in MBM offers the opportunity to be part of a significant new Australian critical minerals project, providing an alternate supply of BAM products to those manufactured in China," said M Battery Materials Chair Matt Latimore.
Company directors plan to invest $6 million of their own funds in the offer, while LE Minerals agreed to commit an additional $2-$5 million.
Initial operations will focus on producing graphite-based battery anode material for electric vehicle batteries and energy storage systems.
The company stated that it also intends to develop vanadium assets to meet growing demand for grid-scale batteries from data centres.
