Lode Resources (ASX:LDR) launched an 18-hole maiden drilling programme at its Rock Abbey Antimony prospect in New South Wales, marking a pivotal step in exploring what appears to be a significant new mineralised system.
Located within the prolific New England Fold Belt, Rock Abbey sits approximately 7km southwest of the historic Magwood Mine.
Recent surface sampling has delivered exceptional results, with high-grade antimony grab samples returning values as high as 37.7% Sb.
The findings, coupled with identified gold associations of up to 0.54 g/t Au, suggest strong geological similarities to the renowned Hillgrove System.
The scale of the project continues to expand, with mineralisation currently mapped over a 1,700-metre strike length.
Managing Director Keith Mayes noted that the prospectivity of Rock Abbey is further enhanced by its shallow historic workings, which allow for more precise drill targeting and faster results compared to deeper deposits.
The exploration effort is not isolated; it sits within a broader company pipeline that includes active projects at Montezuma in Tasmania and the Urulla Gold Project.
Lode’s aggressive exploration of these assets aligns with the NSW Government's Critical Minerals and High-Tech Metals Strategy 2024–2035.
At the time of reporting, Lode Resources’ share price was $0.17.
