Liberty Metals (ASX:LIB) announced a binding four-year option agreement to acquire a 90% interest in the Oko North and Oko South Gold Projects, covering approximately 180km2 in Guyana.
The transaction follows a brief trading halt requested by the firm on Aug. 10, shifting its portfolio focus towards the broader Cuyuni Mining District.
"The acquisition of the Oko North and Oko South Projects delivers Liberty a district-scale footprint in what has quickly become one of the most exciting gold camps in the world," said Liberty Metals Director and Non-Executive Chair Nicholas Katris.
The acquisition covers 40 granted mining permits across approximately 44,288 acres, supported by an A0.0025 per share to fund geological mapping, data compilation, and geochemical sampling during the third quarter of 2026.
The company stated that initial exploration work will target maiden drilling programmes across the two consolidated blocks as field activities commence.
Following the announcement, the Liberty Metals share price was up at $0.0030.
The business operates primarily as an Australian mineral exploration entity focused on identifying and advancing international resource opportunities.
