Kuniko (ASX:KNI) commenced its Phase 2 diamond drilling program at the Commonwealth-Silica Hill Project in New South Wales.
This campaign builds on a Phase 1 exploration program that intersected gold equivalent grades of 347 grams per tonne.
"These results point to a large, fertile, and vertically extensive hydrothermal system with significant scale potential," said Kuniko Managing Director Maja McGuire.
The explorer planned an initial program consisting of six diamond drill holes totaling approximately 1,340m.
Assay results are expected in September, and following the announcement the Kuniko share price was unchanged at $0.029.
Kuniko can earn up to a 70% interest in the asset by funding $3 million in exploration over four years.
The project area is located within the Lachlan Fold Belt mining province approximately 100km north of Orange.
