  • The company aims to locate high-grade gold and copper systems within the Lachlan Fold Belt.

Koonenberry Gold (ASX:KNB) identified multiple priority gold and copper drill targets at its Wilga Flats Project in New South Wales.

The discovery marks a key operational step for the explorer as it progresses from early-stage target generation toward active field testing.

"The identification of these high-priority targets at Wilga Flats reinforces the scale and copper-gold potential of our regional land package," said Koonenberry Gold Managing Director Dan Thomas.

The target area features preliminary core sample intersections containing galena and sphalerite mineralisation along with defined magnetic and geochemical anomalies.

Following the announcement, the Koonenberry Gold share price was unchanged at $0.026.

The Wilga Flats prospect sits inside the prospective Lachlan Fold Belt, a region known for hosting large-scale copper and gold porphyry systems.

The company plans to complete further geophysical and geochemical surveys to finalise specific target depths before commencing its inaugural drilling campaign.
