Kinetiko Energy (ASX:KKO) is preparing to submit a bulk sampling permit application for its Brakfontein gas project by late October.

The application process with the Petroleum Agency of South Africa is expected to take three to four months, targeting approval in early 2027.

“Kinetiko is making steady progress across each of the workstreams needed to take Brakfontein from exploration to production,” said Kinetiko Energy Executive Chair Adam Sierakowski.

The permit will allow limited gas production and sales, alongside a separate settlement with Mulilo that yields $1.3 million in non-dilutive cash.

Following the announcement, the Kinetiko Energy share price was down at $0.031.

The company is concurrently conducting environmental impact assessments and preparing a broader production right application covering area ER271.

Detailed engineering for the first production cluster is underway, with supplier selection and further development drilling planned for early 2027.
