IPH appoints Tony O'Malley as new CEO
Intellectual property services group IPH (ASX:IPH) announced the appointment of Anthony O'Malley as its new Managing Director and CEO, effective July 1.
O’Malley will succeed Dr Andrew Blattman, who previously flagged his intention to retire from the dual leadership roles in November 2025.
The transition comes after a comprehensive global search by the IPH Board. Group Chairman Peter Warne highlighted O'Malley’s broad professional services calibre, noting his extensive background positions him well to guide the next phase of the company's growth strategy.
O’Malley steps into the role with more than 30 years of experience navigating complex, highly regulated international environments across the Big Four advisory firms, major law firms, and massive corporations.
Most recently, O’Malley served as the Global Legal Business Solutions Leader at PwC, overseeing a market-facing legal network spanning over 100 territories and roughly 4,000 employees.
His career also features prominent leadership stints as Managing Partner at King & Wood Mallesons and deputy general counsel at Telstra.
O’Malley brings critical modern expertise in large-scale business transformation and technology-enabled service delivery, having spearheaded the evaluation and global rollout of generative AI platforms to drive productivity and client service.
Commenting on his new role, O'Malley expressed excitement about joining IPH at a pivotal point in its transformation, aiming to leverage its international market position to deliver further growth and shareholder returns.
