International Graphite taps Alkeemia for Euro graphite hub
International Graphite (ASX:IG6) and Italian chemical group Alkeemia have formalised a partnership, executing a binding joint venture and shareholders’ agreement to construct a premier industrial graphite processing hub in Porto Marghera, Venice.
Signed during Alkeemia’s annual battery forum, the agreement establishes a corporate structure where Alkeemia will hold a 51% stake and IG6 will retain 49%, underpinned by an equal 50/50 profit-sharing mechanism.
The hub will be situated within Alkeemia’s established, global-scale hydrofluoric acid production facility.
By co-locating operations, the joint venture directly leverages a tier-one industrial platform complete with pre-existing environmental permitting, specialised laboratories, advanced waste management, and robust port and rail logistics.
The operational synergies within an active chemical ecosystem are projected to yield exceptional capital efficiency and low operational expenditures.
Development pipelines dictate an initial manufacturing capacity of 10,000 tonnes per annum, scaleable to approximately 15,000 tonnes within three years of commissioning.
A highly accelerated path to cash flow is anticipated, with construction slated to commence in the third quarter of 2026, targeting initial production by the second half of 2027.
While the timeline remains subject to a final investment decision, technical evaluation studies are currently being finalised to supply definitive financial guidance.
At the time of reporting, International Graphite’s share price was $0.058.
