INOVIQ (ASX:IIQ) has signed a validation and licence option agreement with Sonic Healthcare USA to optimise and validate its EXO-OC ovarian cancer early-detection test.
Under the terms of the deal, the company will transfer its test to a laboratory in Rye Brook, New York, to conduct validation testing.
The agreement grants Sonic Healthcare USA an option to license the test as a laboratory-developed test following validation.
Dr Mohamed Salama, Chief Medical Officer of Sonic Healthcare USA, said: “EXO-OC has the potential to address a significant unmet need in ovarian cancer detection, where earlier diagnosis may improve outcomes for women.”
Updated clinical data demonstrate that the EXO-OC algorithm achieved 92.3% sensitivity for stage 1/2 detection and 92.5% sensitivity across all stages, alongside 98% specificity.
Following the announcement, the INOVIQ share price was unchanged at $0.16.
The commercialisation pathway targets Sonic Healthcare USA's network, which serves approximately 20 million physicians and patients across the US market.
INOVIQ remains focused on commercialising its proprietary exosome-based diagnostics portfolio to expand cancer detection capabilities globally.
