·       The company aims to expand deployment of its radiation-free cardiac guidance system across more than 2,250 hospitals.

Medical device developer Imricor Medical Systems (ASX:IMR) launched its commercial rollout in the United States after securing its first hospital customer.

The sale to Rady Children's Hospital follows regulatory clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration for the company's catheterisation mapping technology.

“MR guidance eliminates exposure to ionising radiation for patients,” said Rady Children's Hospital Interventional Cardiologist Dr Brent Gordon.

Imricor stated that paediatric label expansions now unlock access to over 250 children's hospitals and 2,000 adult hospitals across the country.

Following the announcement, the Imricor share price was unchanged at $0.45.

The system allows physicians to perform real-time cardiac mapping and ablations directly inside a magnetic resonance imaging machine.

The company stated that initial sales from its NorthStar system are expected to exceed its total European revenue from 2025.
