Impact Minerals chief steps down after 20 years
- Impact Minerals Managing Director Dr Mike Jones has stepped down for health reasons after leading the company for 20 years.
- The company's board leadership transitioned to Jim McKerlie as executive chair effective Sept. 25.
- Impact Minerals is executing a board refresh and strategic review to support its High Purity Aluminium strategy.
Impact Minerals (ASX:IPT) announced that Managing Director Dr Mike Jones stepped down from his executive role after 20 years of service due to health reasons.
The departure ends a two-decade leadership term that began at the company's inception, contrasting with the board's newly initiated leadership restructuring.
"On behalf of the board, I thank Mike for 20 years of service to Impact Minerals," said Impact Minerals Chair Jim McKerlie.
The board refresh also includes directors Frank Bierlain and Paul Ingram stepping down at the upcoming AGM, while McKerlie assumes the Executive Chair role as a search for a new CEO commences.
The leadership changes support an ongoing strategic review focused on commercial development.
Following the announcement, the Impact Minerals share price was unchanged at $0.026.
The business is shifting its operational core towards the development of its high-purity aluminium production assets.
McKerlie joined the board in June with a mandate to guide corporate transitions across resource-listed entities.
