Impact Minerals (ASX:IPT) has announced that its 50%-owned associate, Alluminous, has signed a technology collaboration agreement with US-based battery innovator Charge CCCV to jointly develop and qualify the HiPurA high purity alumina process for advanced battery applications.
The agreement marks a significant milestone in Impact's strategy to build a vertically integrated HPA business, leveraging Lake Hope feedstock and downstream modular production via Alluminous.
Under the non-exclusive agreement, Alluminous and C4V will work to develop HiPurA for battery applications including separator coatings, ceramic layers, solid-state components, and electrode interfaces, with C4V conducting full cell testing to meet global OEM standards—accelerating the pathway from pilot production to commercial readiness.
Impact Minerals’ Managing Director, Dr. Mike Jones, highlighted that C4V's expertise in cell design and ceramic-coating technologies strengthens Alluminous' technical and commercial capabilities while increasing visibility in the North American HPA market.
The collaboration also positions Alluminous—and by extension Impact—to access growing battery markets in the US, India, and Europe, supporting domestic supply-chain security for high-purity materials.
Alluminous will supply initial HiPurA samples from its Perth pilot plant while continuing plant optimisation and evaluating the potential for a U.S. demonstration facility.
The partnership complements Impact's Lake Hope Project by broadening customer bases, expanding downstream capabilities, and accelerating potential HPA revenue generation.
At the time of reporting, Impact Minerals' share price was $0.052.
