Iceni Gold (ASX:ICL) completed its maiden reverse circulation drilling program at the high-priority Goose Well target.

Situated within the company's flagship 14 Mile Well Gold Project between Leonora and Laverton in Western Australia, the program represents a milestone in validating the site's potential.

The campaign involved the drilling of 19 holes totalling 2,150m, targeting the Goose Well Intrusive Complex.

The primary objective of the exploration phase was to test and extend gold intercepts identified during historical drilling.

Early indications are promising, as drilling at the main target area confirmed the existing geological model over a 160-metre strike length.

Furthermore, all holes intersected the expected rock types within the targeted zones.

To bolster the current data, Iceni also conducted resampling of four historical RC drill holes.

Historical intercepts include 21m @ 0.68 g/t Au (including 5m @ 1.57 g/t Au) and 12m @ 0.64 g/t Au (including 2m @ 2.33 g/t Au).

Geological observations from the field, as shown in recent site imagery, highlighted the presence of mafic units and lamprophyre dykes within the monzogranite, which are critical indicators for gold mineralisation in this region.

Samples have already been dispatched to the laboratory for formal analysis, with final assay results expected to be released in mid-April.

At the time of reporting, Iceni Gold's share price was $0.035.
