Hamelin Gold (ASX:HMG) has commenced a plus-3,000-metre Phase 2 reverse-circulation drilling programme at the Day Dawn Gold Project in Western Australia.
The campaign follows an initial 28-hole reverse-circulation programme completed in June that confirmed high-grade gold mineralisation from the surface.
"The Phase 1 RC drilling results from Day Dawn have significantly enhanced our understanding of the gold system and reinforced our view that the project has the potential to host a substantial mineral system," said Hamelin Gold Managing Director Peter Bewick.
The company stated that results from the Phase 2 programme are expected in 6 to 8 weeks, alongside an exploration incentive scheme co-funded diamond drilling programme planned to commence in late September.
With exploration work ramping up across the tenement, the business aims to test both near-surface growth potential and deeper gold models.
Following the announcement, the Hamelin Gold share price was down at $0.18.
The company holds landholdings in the Tanami, Paterson, and Yilgarn gold provinces of Western Australia, focusing on underexplored regions.
