H3 Energy (ASX:H3E) has completed a 3D seismic reprocessing project that identified deeper conventional gas targets beneath its Warro Gas Field in Western Australia.
The new data reveals multiple targets in the Cadda and Cattamarra Coal Measures located directly underneath the existing Yarragadee gas discoveries.
“Warro has always been viewed as a Yarragadee story,” said H3 Energy CEO Nik Sykiotis. “This reprocessing suggests there may be a second, potentially conventional play sitting directly underneath it, and some of it may be within reach of wells we have already drilled.”
The targets sit approximately 300m–500m from existing wellbores, which the company stated could allow testing via current infrastructure rather than drilling new exploration wells.
Appraisal planning is currently underway to evaluate both the deeper targets and the commercial potential of the Yarragadee reservoir.
Following the announcement, the H3 Energy share price was unchanged at $0.0040.
The seismic project was supported by a $50,000 grant awarded under the Department of Mines, Energy and Exploration's Exploration Incentive Scheme in April.
Nearby commercial operations in the Cattamarra Coal Measures have recorded gas flow rates up to 13.5 million standard cubic feet per day at Walyering 1 and 12.1 million standard cubic feet per day at Red Gully 1.
