Great Western Exploration (ASX:GTE) mobilised drilling rigs to its high-priority Oval Copper-Gold Target in Western Australia, marking the beginning of an expansive and "aggressive" exploration programme.

The milestone represents a step forward for the company as it seeks to unlock the potential of a region increasingly recognised for its world-class mineralisation prospects.

The commencement of work at Oval is the centrepiece of a broader strategic initiative that will see the company rigourously drill-test nine individual targets across its tenement package, focusing on identifying substantial copper and gold deposits.

The Oval target has long been a primary focus for Great Western’s geological team, following extensive geophysical surveys and surface sampling that indicated high-intensity anomalies consistent with major metal-bearing systems.

By deploying a systematic drilling approach, the company aims to intercept primary mineralisation and define the scale of the resource.

The campaign is being closely watched by market analysts and investors alike, as the "aggressive" nature of the programme signals Great Western's confidence in the geological data gathered to date.

Based in Perth, the company remains committed to efficient exploration practices whilst maintaining a strong focus on shareholder value.

As drilling progresses, the exploration team will be conducting real-time analysis of core samples to refine subsequent phases of the nine-target programme.
