Great Northern Minerals expands Nevada project footprint

Great Northern Minerals (ASX:GNM) announced an expansion of its land package at the Iron Butte Gold-Silver Project, located within the Battle Mountain District in Nevada, USA.

The company has filed field staking applications for an additional 46 lode claims covering approximately 950 acres, materially increasing the project's footprint within a highly prospective mineralised corridor.

The two newly acquired claim areas exhibit geological features, alteration styles, and geochemical signatures comparable to known mineralised zones at Iron Butte and other major Nevada gold deposits.

A review of historical soil sampling across these new claims has revealed strong surface gold-silver mineralisation, with assays returning up to 179 ppb gold and 3.8 ppm silver over wide areas spanning up to 1km in strike.

The results provide a robust foundation for rapid target generation, underscoring the substantial exploration upside of the expanded ground.

Moving forward, GNM plans to integrate these claims into its broader regional exploration strategy.

An initial surface sampling programme will be prioritised immediately following the completion of an ongoing geophysical review, which is already well advanced.

The review will be instrumental in defining and prioritising future drill targets ahead of permitting and contractor engagement.

Data compilation and validation to support the project's resource estimation have been finalised.

At the time of reporting, Great Northern Minerals’ share price was $0.045.
