Galileo Mining begins drilling at Norseman PGM Project
Galileo Mining (ASX:GAL) commenced a 5,000-metre aircore drilling campaign at its 100% owned Norseman Project in Western Australia, aiming to unlock the next major Platinum Group Metals discovery.
The exploration initiative is heavily focused on priority targets at the Mission Sill prospect, following up on critical, newly identified shallow sulphide intercepts.
Recent exploration data highlights significant potential at Mission Sill, including a standout intercept of 8m at 0.42g/t PGM 3E from 24m, which features a higher-grade zone of 2m at $0.88g/t 3E.
Another key drill hole revealed 17m at 0.36g/t PGM 3E from 84m.
Geologists are particularly optimistic given that these high-priority sulphide mineralisations appear linked to a massive geological feature striking over 10km, indicating substantial potential for large-scale discoveries.
The Norseman region already boasts a proven track record, anchored by Galileo’s landmark 2022 discovery of the 17.5-million-tonne Callisto resource.
The latest drill programme is designed to drive new palladium and platinum discoveries to expand upon the company's established JORC resource of 1.27 million ounces of palladium equivalent.
Galileo’s Managing Director, Brad Underwood, expressed immense confidence in the campaign's upside, noting that the chances of making fresh mineral discoveries at this specific location are significant.
