French billionaire Olivier Goudet has further solidified his position as a major shareholder in Treasury Wine Estates (ASX:TWE), increasing his stake in the Penfolds owner from 6.13% to 7.13%.

Following a recent visit to Australia to inspect the group’s operations firsthand, Goudet ramped up his acquisition activity over the past two trading days, investing $3.6 million in additional shares to continue a steady buying pattern established throughout February.

Goudet’s investment fund, Platin, first appeared as a substantial holder late last year, with the billionaire telling The Australian Financial Review that he views the company as undervalued.

Emphasising a long-term approach, Goudet described Platin as an "evergreen investor" focused on sustained value creation rather than short-term gains.
