Foresta secures Japanese patent for extraction process

Foresta Group Holdings (ASX:FGH) secured patent acceptance in Japan for its proprietary pine chemical extraction technology covering rotary extractor methods.

The accepted application, designated as Japanese Patent Application No. 2022-577621, protects specific temperature, pressure, and time parameters used in the production process.

Foresta Group Holdings also continued prosecution of a related divisional application filed on 8 May 2026 to target counter-current treatment methods.

The company stated that the Japanese acceptance is expected to strengthen its intellectual property position and support its broader commercialisation strategy.

Following the announcement, the Foresta Group Holdings share price was unchanged at $0.01.

The intellectual property portfolio now includes two patent families covering innovative methods for processing pine wood.

The second patent family focuses on generating torrefied wood pellets and briquettes to expand the company's manufacturing capabilities.
