Fluence secures $3.7M Texas water contract
Fluence (ASX:FLC) announced a milestone in its North American expansion, securing a US$3.7 million contract to design and construct a state-of-the-art industrial water treatment plant in Texas.
The project, commissioned by a prominent US manufacturer, highlights the growing demand for decentralised water solutions in regions facing acute water scarcity and drought.
The facility will integrate advanced ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis technologies to process groundwater from an on-site well, specifically for cooling tower makeup.
Once fully operational by the end of 2026, the plant is expected to produce up to 1.5 million gallons of water per day.
A key feature of the system is its high efficiency; it is designed to achieve greater than 90% feedwater recovery, drastically reducing the client's reliance on municipal water supplies.
Ben Fash, CEO of Fluence, emphasised that water security is increasingly becoming a critical operational risk for industrial manufacturers.
He noted that this project serves as a prime example of how advanced technology can bolster operational resilience while supporting broader community conservation efforts during extreme climate events.
At the time of reporting, Fluence’s share price was $0.086.
