Estrella Resources (ASX:ESR) has commenced its initial exploration drilling programme across its high-priority mineral tenements in Timor-Leste.
The campaign represents the first modern systematic drilling programme conducted in the region following the establishment of the mining code in Timor-Leste.
"The first phase will investigate shallow targets, including near-surface porphyry outcrop and a possible manganese-bearing horizon," said Estrella Resources Managing Director Christopher Daws.
The technical team will collect subsurface core samples to map priority targets, including the 10-kilometre-wide Laleno Dome copper-gold anomaly.
The company stated that the findings will help define drill targets for future bulk commodity extraction.
Following the announcement, the Estrella Resources share price was unchanged at $0.028.
Estrella Resources previously secured multiple exploration permits in Timor-Leste while maintaining its existing Western Australian nickel and manganese assets.
