Environmental Clean Technologies (ASX:ECT) announced that its acquisition target, Xenica, successfully produced MXene during its first scale-up optimisation test runs.
The initial production runs were completed on schedule using a flash joule heating reactor platform provided by partner Metallium (ASX:MTM).
Laboratory testing confirmed the formation of chlorine-terminated MXene through two separate processing flashes.
ECT Chief Scientist and CTO, Justin Sharp, said, “Our focus with MTM is now on improving conversion and product consistency and on characterising the material against defence-relevant specifications."
The company stated that the structured programme is designed to identify optimal processing parameters for commercial-grade output.
Following the announcement, the Environmental Clean Technologies share price was unchanged at $0.10.
The underlying research effort is governed by a joint development agreement signed with Metallium on Aug. 4.
Environmental Clean Technologies holds a sublicence to manufacture and sell MXene products specifically tailored for defence industry applications.
