Elixir Energy advances Lorelle-3H well operations
Elixir Energy (ASX:EXR) announced a pivotal operational update for its high-impact Lorelle-3H appraisal well, situated in ATP2056 within Queensland’s Taroom Trough.
The company is set to commence the crucial stimulation, completion, and testing phase on June 4, starting with a diagnostic fracture injection test.
Initiated alongside industry heavyweight Halliburton at the toe end of the well, the DFIT is specifically designed to measure reservoir pressures within the Tinowon 'Dunk' Sandstone.
The process will gather critical data required to finalise the design of the subsequent multi-stage stimulation and testing phase.
Collaborative engineering work alongside experts from SLB, Corelab, and Halliburton RCD is now largely complete.
Utilising physical core and petrophysical data recovered from the Lorelle-3 and 3H wells, the team has designed a six-million-pound, 11-stage stimulation programme under Elixir’s pre-approved RCD framework.
Procurement, contracting, and preparatory works for this next phase have already concluded, with operations scheduled to commence in mid-June.
The stimulation will be immediately followed by an intensive flow-back and testing routine. Elixir, in partnership with EnServe, has already formulated the testing plan, with operations slated to begin in late June.
The final stage aims to deliver the vital IP30 production curve for the Lorelle-3H well.
At the time of reporting, Elixir Energy’s share price was $0.11.
