Elevra Lithium secures $441M to accelerate growth
North American lithium producer Elevra Lithium (ASX:ELV) has announced a $441 million financing package designed to accelerate its expansion projects and fortify its balance sheet.
The capital injection is headlined by a fully underwritten $275 million institutional placement and a strategic $146 million convertible notes investment from the Canada Growth Fund.
The company is launching a share purchase plan for existing shareholders to raise a further $20 million.
These funds are earmarked for the accelerated brownfield expansion of the North American Lithium facility and to advance the Moblan Lithium project towards a final investment decision.
By securing this "strategic financing package", Elevra aims to transition into a lower-cost, globally relevant producer capable of weathering volatile commodity cycles.
Elevra has also repurchased and terminated a spodumene concentrate offtake agreement with Waratah Capital Advisors.
Previously, Waratah held the rights to 10% of Moblan’s annual production at a 5% discount to market prices.
To regain these rights, Elevra issued US$5 million in ordinary shares and US$0.5 million in options to Waratah.
The transaction grants Elevra 100% control over its pro-rata offtake entitlement from Moblan.
