Electro Optic Systems secures US and Korean defence contracts
Electro Optic Systems (ASX:EOS) announced an expansion of its international footprint, securing two new defence contracts in the United States and reaching a pivotal milestone in a conditional South Korean deal.
The company’s US-based subsidiary, EOS Defense Systems USA, was awarded contracts totalling US$12 million, further solidifying its relationship with the US Army and Northrop Grumman.
The first US award is a US$5 million development contract for the delivery of enhanced remote weapon systems to the US Army.
The project, based in Huntsville, Alabama, aims to refine operational capabilities for future high-priority military programs, with deliveries scheduled for 2026.
Simultaneously, EOS secured a US$7 million order to provide Slinger RWS units for Northrop Grumman’s Agnostic Gun Truck.
Designed for counter-drone operations, this follow-on order highlights the growing market demand for EOS’s specialised anti-UAV technology.
Beyond the American market, EOS reported progress on a major US$80 million conditional contract with Korean counterparty Goldrone for a 100kW High Energy Laser weapon.
Recent discussions have focused on a shared action plan to transition the agreement to an unconditional status.
Key requirements include an initial US$18 million deposit and a site inspection of EOS’s Singapore facility.
The parties are exploring shifting manufacturing for the first unit to Korea.
While conversion to an unconditional contract is targeted for Q2 2026, EOS maintains a cautious outlook regarding the finalisation of these terms.
At the time of reporting, Electro Optic Systems' share price was $8.24.
