Electro Optic Systems (ASX:EOS) has announced a new US$21 million order for its R400 remote weapon system from a North American customer.
The systems are intended for integration on light armoured vehicles being manufactured by a major defence contractor for supply to an end user in South America.
The RWS units, supplied in a ground-to-ground configuration, will be produced at EOS’ Canberra facility during 2026 and 2027, with the contract covering the weapon systems, vehicle integration kits, storage services, and related items.
This latest order adds to EOS’ robust contract backlog, which has surged to over $400 million as of December, up from $136 million at the end of 2024, driven by several new secured contracts throughout the year, including high energy laser and slinger counter-drone systems and the LAND 400-3 R400 RWS.
The company expects the majority of this backlog to be converted into revenue during 2026 and 2027, while also maintaining an extensive pipeline of potential future orders.
At the time of reporting, Electro Optic Systems' share price was $8.36.
