Domino's Pizza Enterprises (ASX:DMP) announced Group CEO Andrew Gregory will immediately take direct operational responsibility for the Australia and New Zealand unit following the departure of regional CEO Merrill Pereyra.

The immediate leadership change comes as the quick-service restaurant operator focuses on accelerating its operational turnaround plan across local franchise markets.

"My focus will be to work directly with the leadership team and our franchisees to increase the pace of execution, build on that foundation and deliver sustainable profitability," said Domino's Group CEO and Managing Director Andrew Gregory.

The company will initiate a search for an executive to lead the Australia and New Zealand region while Gregory receives support from the existing leadership team.

Following the announcement the Domino's Pizza Enterprises share price was down at $21.90.

The leadership restructuring follows efforts across the past financial year focused on reducing corporate costs, paying down debt, and increasing returns for franchise partners.
