Diablo Resources starts maiden 1,000-metre Utah drilling
- Diablo Resources began a maiden 1,000-metre diamond drilling programme at its North Star prospect in Utah.
- The exploration update provides subsurface testing of priority targets following high-grade surface sampling results.
- The company aims to evaluate the scale, geometry, and continuity of the silver-antimony-copper-gold mineralisation.
Diablo Resources (ASX:DBO) has commenced its maiden diamond drilling campaign consisting of approximately 1,000m across five holes at the North Star prospect within the Star Range Project in Utah.
The programme represents the first subsurface test of target structures where surface sampling previously returned grades of up to 3,043 g/t silver and 1.37 g/t gold, alongside 0.7% antimony.
Existing permits allow for up to 27 holes across 12 pads, providing operational flexibility to expand the drilling effort based on preliminary findings.
CEO Lyle Thorne commented, “Star Range continues to demonstrate strong potential across multiple target zones, and this programme will provide important subsurface data to guide the next phase of exploration.”
The company stated that data gathered from this initial campaign will refine its underlying geological model and inform subsequent drill targeting.
Following the announcement, the Diablo Resources share price was unchanged at $0.017.
The Star Range Project covers 104 unpatented lode claims spanning roughly 2,160 acres west of Milford in Beaver County, Utah.
In addition to North Star, the explorer holds a broader portfolio of North American mineral assets, including the Horn Silver and Phoenix Copper projects in Utah alongside the King Solomon Gold project in Idaho.
