DeSoto Resources (ASX:DES) has received government approval to resume exploration across its gold portfolio in Guinea.
The company had temporarily paused field work during a government crackdown against illegal mining operations.
“We have since received approval for our activities to resume,” said DeSoto Resources Managing Director Chris Swallow.
The restarted operations include a 10,000-metre drilling programme across 485 holes and a 6,262 line-kilometre geophysics survey.
Following the announcement, the DeSoto Resources share price was up at $0.13 as work resumed across key prospects.
DeSoto holds a 1,234-square-kilometre land package comprising 14 gold projects in Guinea’s Siguiri Basin.
The explorer also established a joint venture alliance with Fortuna Mining to fund future exploration across agreed projects.
