D3 Energy secures five South African permits

• D3 Energy was granted five technical cooperation permits in South Africa's Free State Province, covering 47,000 acres.
• The expansion provides low-cost desktop exploration optionality adjacent to existing helium and methane discoveries.
• The company plans to complete initial studies before applying for full exploration rights over the permitted areas.

D3 Energy (ASX:D3E) has secured five new technical cooperation permits spanning approximately 47,000 acres in the Free State Province of South Africa.

The newly awarded permits, granted by the Petroleum Agency SA, expand the company's existing exploration footprint along prospective helium and methane structural trends.

"The award of these five new Technical Cooperation Permits continues D3 Energy’s strategy of securing high-value helium and natural gas acreage along proven producing structural zones of the Free State," said D3 Energy Managing Director and CEO David Casey.

Each permit carries a one-year term to conduct desktop-based geological and geophysical studies.

Following the announcement, the D3 Energy share price was unchanged at $0.26.

The company previously utilised the permit pathway at ER386 to convert its position into an independently certified resource.

D3 Energy anticipates that successful studies could lead to full Exploration Right applications across the newly granted areas.
