Critical Resources (ASX:CRR) has deposited a 15-micron solid-state battery composite layer in a single dry step.

This achievement follows a milestone flagged on March 5 that validated a simpler solvent-free cathode layer.

“The hardest part of a solid-state battery is the join between the cathode and the electrolyte,” said Critical Resources Managing Director Tim Wither.

Electrochemical coin-cell testing is underway to measure baseline performance ahead of full-format pouch cell evaluation.

Following the announcement, the Critical Resources share price was down at $0.009.

This evaluation programme is conducted at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology within a United States research framework.

The company stated that the process targets future manufacturing applications in high-density computing, data centres, defence, and aerospace.
