Cosmo Metals begins Phase 2 Kanowna Project drilling
Cosmo Metals (ASX:CMO) commenced its Phase 2 diamond drilling programme at the Kanowna Gold Project, located 13km from Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.
The high-impact exploration programme is highlighted by a 400-metre-deep diamond drill hole at the Laguna Verde prospect, which is co-funded by the Western Australian Government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme.
The EIS hole targets a high-conviction structural setting associated with the interpreted extension of the Fitzroy Fault, a major geological structure linked to gold mineralisation at Northern Star Resources’ nearby 7Moz Kanowna Belle gold mine.
In addition to the work at Laguna Verde, Cosmo Metals has proposed diamond tails on existing reverse circulation holes at the Don Alvaro and Adder prospects.
The operations are designed to test for high-grade, invincible-style gold mineralisation adjacent to the highly prospective Kanowna Shear.
Investors can expect a steady stream of news flow from the project over the coming month; the company confirmed that samples from the previously completed RC drilling phase are already in the laboratory, with assay results expected to be finalised and released in the coming weeks.
At the time of reporting, Cosmo Metals' share price was $0.010.
