  • An independent audit found no evidence that Corporate Travel overcharged the Australian government.
  • The department of finance confirmed the findings following a review that began in January.
  • The outcome comes after the business agreed to repay the UK government up to £128 million for separate billing issues.

Corporate Travel (ASX:CTD) has been cleared of widespread or systemic overcharging following an independent audit by the Australian government's finance department.

The review compared recent booking practices against contract terms after billing controversies emerged in international markets.

"The audit concluded that there was no evidence of widespread or systemic overcharging under the Australian government travel arrangements," said the Department of Finance.

Axiom Associates conducted the detailed investigation into the management of travel charges, fees, refunds, and overall booking practices.

The company stated that the findings help resolve scrutiny surrounding its public sector contracting practices.

Following the announcement, the Corporate Travel share price was unchanged at $16.70.

The business previously disclosed in November that it needed to repay the UK government £80 million for separate service issues.

That UK repayment estimate subsequently increased to £128 million by February after further accounting reviews.
