
Contact Energy posts NZ$423M full-year profit

Contact Energy (ASX:CEN) reported a NZ$423 million full-year profit following its recent Manawa Energy acquisition. EPS came in at 41.5 New Zealand cents per share.
The business recorded NZ$1.01 billion in EBITDAF, rising 31% from the previous year.
"The strong performance of the combined entity has set us up well as we move forward to execute the Contact31+ strategy," said CEO Mike Fuge.
The integrated business recorded a 2.9 terawatt-hour increase in renewable generation and commissioned a 100-megawatt grid-scale battery.
The company stated it plans to expand its renewable energy portfolio, and following the announcement the Contact Energy share price was unchanged at $7.52.
The board declared a final dividend of 24 cents per share, taking the annual dividend declared for FY26 to 40 cents per share.
The energy provider expanded a flexible supply agreement to power a New Zealand Steel electric arc furnace.
The company also secured regulatory consent for the Southland Wind Farm to supply additional industrial electricity.
