Collins Foods finalises major Bavarian KFC acquisition
Fast-food giant Collins Foods (ASX:CKF) finalised its acquisition of eight KFC restaurants across Bavaria, Germany, from JJ Restaurant GmbH & Co. KG.
Effectively consolidated into financial reporting from June 1, the transaction augments the firm's established German retail portfolio by approximately 50%.
The targeted geographic push secures an operational foothold centred around Munich, capitalising heavily on an affluent regional consumer market characterised by high disposable income and dense population metrics.
Company executives highlighted that the newly integrated Bavarian establishments structurally operate at superior profit margins relative to Collins Foods' pre-existing German assets, structurally bolstering the organisation's regional performance profile.
The integration cements the corporation's footprint across three dominant economic German states that combined represent more than half of Germany's national population and 54% of its gross domestic product.
Management views Germany as an underpenetrated market for the global KFC franchise brand, representing a secondary core pillar designed to accelerate long-term corporate growth trajectories.
"This acquisition marks another important milestone in our German growth strategy," observed Xavier Simonet, Managing Director and CEO of Collins Foods.
"The additional scale created enhances our operational presence and positions us well to accelerate growth further in this key market."
At the time of reporting, Collins Foods’ share price was $8.33.
