Clinuvel reorganises operations and relocates to US
- Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals will relocate its corporate headquarters and key functions to the U.S. effective Jan. 1, 2027.
- The company is reducing its global workforce by approximately 10% to 20% while shifting resources exclusively to the US pharmaceutical pipeline.
- The decision aims to access deeper capital pools, achieve valuation alignment with U.S. biopharmaceuticals, and target the U.S. vitiligo patient population.
Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals (ASX:CUV) will execute a strategic reorganisation of its operations and workforce to relocate its corporate headquarters to the U.S., effective Jan. 1, 2027.
The move follows constrained liquidity in Australian and broader Asia-Pacific markets, with foreign investors currently holding over 66% of the company's shareholder register.
"We have long contemplated a U.S. listing and concluded that the company has reached a stage of maturity sufficient to attract the attention of U.S. investors," said Clinuvel COO Lachlan Hay.
As part of the operational shift, the business will reduce its global headcount by 10% to 20% to realign operating expenditure towards near-term clinical and commercial priorities.
Clinuvel stated that the U.S. market accounts for over 40% of the global pharmaceutical market by value, serving as the main ecosystem for premium pricing and M&A activity.
Following the announcement, the Clinuvel share price was up at $10.01.
