Australian water treatment company Clean TeQ Water (ASX:CNQ) announced a milestone in its European operations, securing a Phase 2 contract with Nyrstar to deliver a wastewater treatment project at the Nyrstar Balen operations in Belgium.

The contract, valued at approximately €6.1 million, follows the completion of the Phase 1 detailed engineering phase, which commenced in May 2025.

The award marks the formal progression of the project into full-scale delivery.

The total contract value includes the base execution contract of €5.1 million, along with an additional €1.1 million allocated for provisional services.

Clean TeQ Water will deploy its proprietary DESALX system, built on the company's MBIX platform.

The system is specifically designed to treat industrial process water by removing sulphate and selenium contaminants.

By implementing this technology, Nyrstar aims to meet stringent environmental effluent discharge requirements and improve its overall environmental performance.

The project highlights a collaborative effort between Clean TeQ Water and Nyrstar, building upon earlier testwork and piloting phases to bring a sustainable solution to industrial water management in Europe.

At the time of reporting, Clean TeQ Water's share price was $0.36.
